"La Plagne is a firm favourite for family ski holidays and it's easy to see why. Great self-catered, slopeside accommodation, wide open pistes and several fantastic ski schools. The link to Les Arcs creating the Paradiski ski area means that there's loads of skiing to explore - you'll never be bored!"

La Plagne Ski Holidays

One of the most popular ski resorts in the French Alps, La Plagne is comprised of 10 satellite villages, with each being a self sufficient mini-resort. The majority offer slopeside accommodation, their own ski schools and links to the other villages. La Plagne is particularly appealing for families and intermediate skiers looking to chalk up the miles.

Part of the vast Paradiski ski area, La Plagne is located in the Tarentaise region of the Alps. The impressive Vanoise Express cable car connects the La Plagne ski area to Les Arcs, via Peisey Vallandry, and is well worth a trip to explore the rest of the Paradiski area - if you can stomach the 380m drop to the valley floor!

Explore the slopes

La Plagne is an intermediate's paradise with 225km of pistes, of which over 80% are blue or red - and that's not even including the connecting resort of Les Arcs.

La Plagne is a very popular choice for beginners thanks to its excellent learning faciltiies and ski schools as well as good nursery slopes in each of the main satellite villages. For early intermediates there are plenty of gentle blue runs in the main La Plagne bowl including a long cruising run from Roche de Mio down to Belle Plagne. More advanced intermediates should head over to the tree-lined runs above Les Coches.

Expert skiers and boarders will get the most out of La Plagne if they hire a guide and explore the vast amount of off piste available, which will often be untracked as not many people know about it!

Snowboarders will also love La Plagne, with lots of motorway style pistes available for beginners and intermediates, but watch out for the flat runs above Belle Plagne. Expert boarders are advised to hire a guide to show them where the secret off-piste stashes can be found.

Enjoy the resort

La Plagne is made up of several purpose-built high altitude villages. We've selected accommodation in La Plagne Centre, Belle Plagne and Plagne Soleil. Each village is self-sufficient with bars, shops and restaurants on your doorstep as well as easy access to the slopes.

Where to Stay

We feature a choice of great quality self-catering accommodation and chalets in Plagne Soleil, Belle Plagne and Plagne Centre, offering easy access to the slopes, excellent facilities and smart surroundings.

Après-Ski in La Plagne

You'll find live music straight off the mountain at the Camp de Base Café at the bottom of the Montchavin bubble. La Tourmente in Montalbert is an unusually quaint après-ski spot. Relax on the terrace and soak up some sun while enjoying a well-earned drink.

Further from the slopes, Spitting Feathers Bar in Plagne Bellecôte is a favourite for many and it’s not difficult to see why. Styled on a typical English pub, it is open in the afternoon and shows sports on its screens as well as hosting quiz nights and karaoke.

The most popular place in Plagne Soleil is Monica’s Bar, which is busy any time of day thanks to its sun terrace and wide choice of beers.

In Place de la Cheminée (Plagne Centre) you will find Le Luna Bar which boasts more of a laid back atmosphere with an enormous drinks menu and even some good whiskies!

Le Bonnet in Plagne Bellecôte offers an apres-ski party experience with live music.

Restaurant Au Coin du Feu - Plagne Soleil: A popluar choice in Plagne Soleil, Au Coin du Feu is a traditional French restaurant featuring hearty cuisine including flame grilled meats, Here you'll find French favourites such as snails and gratin dauphinois, as well as Savoyard specialities.

Le Forperet - Montalbert: This quaint moutain restaurant is ideal in both good and bad weather and offers traditional cuisine in a charming setting.

Chez Pat du Sauget- Montchavin Les Coches: As well as being a quirky lodge, this small gem is a fantastic restaurant serving simple, gutsy regional dishes.

Le Chalet des Verdons Sud - Champagny-en-Vanoise: This restaurant is open for lunch and serves hearty meals in a cosy setting.
