"Head to Keystone for an adventure filled family holiday! Whether you’re looking for a fun playground of ski slopes or simply a getaway in the snowy mountains – Keystone will be a joy!"
Keystone Ski Holidays
Family adventure has always been at the heart of Keystone, from the beginning when it was founded in 1970 right through until now it’s the perfect playground for all, and the friendly villages play host to many dining and shopping options along with fun activities like snow tubing and ice skating.
Explore the slopes
Split over three peaks – Dercum Mountain, North Peak and The Outback - and five bowls, the 3,000+ acres of skiable terrain offers a wide variety of exciting glades and groomers. A couple of seasons ago Bergman Bowl was a game changer for the resort, opening up over 550 acres of terrain with access via the Bergman Express chairlift – these high alpine bowls which were previously only accessible for the fittest of hikers.
For beginners and improvers not only is there an excellent ski and ride school there are also green and / or blue trails from every main ski lift so you really get the chance to explore the mountain. Green and blue runs make up 51% of the whole ski area so plenty for practicing and progressing! Be sure to head up the River Run Gondola and take the longest ski run in the resort back to the village – Schoolmarm is 3.5 miles of relaxed green terrain.
Those more advanced are spoiled for choice with 49% of the resort being black graded terrain in a mix of tree lined trails, adrenaline pumping alpine chutes and hike-to terrain in the bowls. Experts can test themselves on ‘Diamond Back’, accessible from Summit House and one of the more challenging black diamond runs in the resort or for extreme double black diamond there are lots of hike-to chutes from the same start point.
If you’ve not had enough of the epic terrain during the day then Keystone boasts the longest ski day in Colorado thanks to their Night Skiing – certain trails are open until 7pm over weekends and peak holidays! (Subject to scheduling)
Enjoy the resort
Keystone stretches 7 miles along the Snake River with three unique villages offering a choice of shops, restaurants, bars and activities. The pedestrianised River Run Village is home to the River Run Gondola providing the simplest access into the main part of the ski area – this is really where you want to be starting your day to access the most variety of family terrain. In River Run Village we featuring the stunning, brand new Kindred Resort Hotel. Alternatively in Lakeside Village you can enjoy the incredible scenery of mountains and lake. Here you’ll find a good selection of restaurants along with the Keystone Lodge & Spa and you’d take the free complimentary resort shuttle service to the ski lifts.
Whether you’re a non-skier or still have energy after your days skiing on the mountain there are plenty of winter activities to indulge in including Kidtopia which arranges daily activities for all ages, the world’s largest snow fort and mountaintop tubing. You’ll find more information in the activities tab above.
