"LAAX has long been known for its outstanding freestyle terrain and facilities and rightly so. But there’s also some superb high-altitude downhill skiing to explore as well. So don’t overlook this resort for your next ski holiday, even if freestyle isn’t your thing. "

LAAX Ski Holidays

With the world’s largest halfpipe, five snowparks and a dedicated Freestyle Academy, LAAX is rightly considered the freestyle capital of Europe. But with 224km of downhill, high altitude ski slopes to explore, there’s plenty for on-piste cruisers to enjoy as well.

Explore the slopes

Budding freestyle skiers and boarders are in for a treat in LAAX. Hone your skills in the 5 different snowparks where you’ll find over 90 obstacles designed to test the skills of everyone from novices all the way up to the most extreme Alpine acrobats. The most daring can try out the world’s largest halfpipe and the Olympic sized kickers. If you need to practise your skills before hitting the mountain, check out the indoor Freestyle Academy, a modern playground with trampolines, ramps and a skate area. Book a session with an expert coach who’ll push you to your limits. For really young budding freestylers, there’s a dedicated Kids Freestyle Academy in nearby Flims which is exclusively for children aged 8 or younger.

If you prefer to have both feet planted firmly on the ground, the ski area won’t disappoint. 70% of the resort’s skiable terrain sits above 2000m and with excellent snowmaking facilities, this is a snowsure destination. Beginners will enjoy the gentle blue slopes around Crap Sogn Gion and Alp Dado and the LAAX School is available to book for anyone looking for expert instruction. More advanced skiers will love the sunny slopes in Nagens and the 13km descent from La Siala down to Flims is a must – you’ll descend a whopping 1700m in altitude. There’s plenty of off-piste terrain to explore as well when conditions are right (only with avalanche equipment and accompanied by a guide).

Enjoy the resort

All of our selected accommodation sits at the base of the LAAX cable car in a purpose built resort. You’ll find everything you need for an enjoyable holiday here from ski rental and ski school, to a decent selection of restaurants, bars and shops. And all this can be reached in just under 2 hours from Zurich Airport.

Where to stay

Whether you choose to stay in a modern apartment or prefer to stay in a full service hotel, we’ve got you covered in LAAX. All our featured accommodation is well located with easy access to the slopes.
