"Saas Fee is a real gem of a resort. High altitude skiing with guaranteed snow on the glacier combined with one of the most picturesque villages you'll find anywhere in the Alps. And it offers excellent value for money - surely skiing doesn't get much better?!"
Saas Fee Ski Holidays
Surrounded by a towering backdrop of thirteen majestic peaks, the ‘Pearl of the Alps’ sits in a truly breathtaking location. Add in snow sure glacier skiing and bags of traditional Swiss character and it’s easy to see why the peaceful destination of Saas Fee holds a special place in our hearts.
Explore the slopes
We love the variety, the amazing length of the pistes and the incredible quality of the snow in Saas Fee’s modest but perfectly formed ski area. With many slopes sitting above 2,500m and facing to the north, Saas Fee boasts a great snow record with plenty of light, fluffy snow for the powder hounds.
Saas Fee is a beginner’s paradise. Learn to ski or snowboard in the beginner area by the village before heading up the mountain to practise your new-found skills on lovely wide blues, just made for cruising. Intermediates will love the slightly more challenging red runs from Mittelallalin, which can be reached via the highest underground funicular in the world.
Leisurely skiing and snowboarding are what relaxing holidays in Saas Fee are all about. That said, there are a few steep black runs to keep things demanding for the experts and, although limited, some off-piste opportunities with a guide.
Enjoy the resort
Saas Fee’s historic cobblestone streets are a joy to explore. Free from traffic and lined with picturesque chalets, boutiques and eateries, there’s an unspoilt, civilized atmosphere to soak up.
Dining and après-ski are lively and welcoming, with plenty of family-friendly options, cosy bars and sun terraces where you can celebrate another great day in the mountains with a bit of Europop. There are even a few night clubs open till late if the mood takes you.
Saas Fee has plenty to entertain non-skiers. For an unforgettable dining experience, why not visit the world’s highest revolving restaurant at 3,500m up the Mittelallalin mountain? While you’re there, visit the neighbouring Ice Pavilion with stunning ice sculptures for you to admire.
The resort's car free philosophy and stunning scenery make it one of the best ski resorts to enjoy a memorable family holiday. Friendly cafés and facilities like the Aqua Allalin swimming pool complex (with a children’s pool and water slide) add to the resort’s family friendly reputation.

From mid-afternoon, as people make their way down the mountain, they face the difficult choice of whether to take one final run or perhaps just slope off to one of the welcoming bars. Nesti's is a quirky little bar and the Black Bull is a popular choice for those who enjoy a bit of Europop.

Saas Fee has a wide range of dining options catering for all tastes and budgets. As you'd expect, you'll find no shortage of restaurants specialising in traditional Swiss cuisine. For on mountain dining, the Gletschergrotte, is an absolute must visit. One of the most picturesque spots on the mountain you'll fall in love with this quaint, traditional Swiss eatery. It gets busy at lunchtime so a reservation is recommended.
In the village Essstube has a varied menu including Asian inspired dishes from the wok. For a true Swiss experience in a cosy setting the Schaeferstube is also a fantastic choice.
There are several Italian restaurants in Saas Fee, including Chami Stuba which does excellent pizzas.

There is a large open-air ice rink where you can skate or have a go at curling. Another favourite is the Feeblitz toboggan ride by the Alpin Express. Room was good size and well equipped with plenty of storage space and had a spectacular view of the mountains. Food quality and choice were excellent throughout. The hotel staff were always friendly and efficient and helpful with queries about the resort.

As our original holiday to France was cancelled, Karen (with support from Catherine) put together a new holiday in short order which was as closely tied to our preferences as possible. We very much appreciated their flexibility, creativity and hard work in making our vacation possible (and a joy!) in such a difficult situation.
