"I can't speak highly enough about Les Arcs, having road tested the resort myself on successful family ski holidays. The Les Arcs ski area is huge with terrain to suit every standard plus there's also the option of skiing over to La Plagne. I'd recommend Le Village Arc 1950 for families - everything has been designed for convenience with ski schools, shops and restaurants close at hand plus a kids club and a variety of swimming pools. "
Les Arcs Ski Holidays
One of our favourite family-friendly resorts, scenic Les Arcs offers incredible access to the world-class Paradiski area. Alongside this high-altitude winter playground sit a choice of modern resort villages to bring you the perfect balance of excitement and relaxation.
Explore the slopes
With 200km of immaculate pistes to explore within the local Les Arcs ski area, you’ll find a lovely variety of wide runs both above and below the treeline right on your doorstep, including a great range of beginner slopes. Don’t miss the famous 7km descent from the summit of the Aiguille Rouge at 3,250m right down to the tiny hamlet of Villaroger at 1,200m – it’s one of the longest in Europe.
If cruising as many runs as possible during your ski holiday is your thing, you’ll adore the slick lift system – including the double decker Vanoise Express gondola linking Les Arcs with neighbouring La Plagne – that makes the wider 425km Paradiski area such a delight to explore.
Enjoy the resort
Les Arcs comprises four self-contained, contemporary bases, each named according to their altitude at 1600, 1800, 1950 and 2000 respectively, as well as the traditional villages of Peisey Vallandry. All are linked by a network of pistes and lifts, giving you ample opportunity to soak up the individual character of each.
Each purpose-built resort is largely traffic-free, with a wealth of facilities and activities to enjoy. Arc 1800 is where you’ll find the state-of-the-art Mille8 development with everything from an impressive aquatic leisure centre to toboggan runs and slalom courses. Arc 1950 is more tranquil, with fantastic family-friendly accommodation and facilities, while Arc 2000 is a perfect base for those seeking unrivalled access to the slopes every morning.
Where to stay
We feature a fantastic selection of accommodation in Arc 1600, 1950 and 2000, all delivering easy access to the slopes, family-friendly facilities and stylish surroundings.
Choose from full-service 5-star luxury, ski-in/ski out convenience or cosy value for money across a beautiful range of hotels and apartments. Most properties boast their own wellness facilities, where you can happily revive tired legs after a fabulous day of skiing or snowboarding, and spectacular panoramic views of the valley below and the majestic snow-capped peaks above.

Après-Ski in Les Arcs
Arc 1800 is the liveliest of the Les Arcs sub-resorts with a wide selection of bars and night spots, but you'll also find a small selection of lively pubs and restaurants in Arc 2000 and Arc 1950.
For some après activities, check out the Mille8 development located just above Arc 1800 which features a toboggan run and an aqautic centre to appeal to all (indoor pool, kids water play area, slides, wellness area and gym).
Dining in Les Arcs
Les Arcs is a relaxed, laid back resort so the vast majority of dining establishments are small and family-run, serving mountain favourites like raclette and fondue.
Places worthy of a visit include Mamie Crêpe (Arc 1800) and Le 2134 (Arc 2000).
For lunch, the superb Belliou La Fumée serves good food in a convivial, traditional atmosphere just at the bottom of the Pré Saint-Esprit chairlift. This is a popular spot so advance booking may be required. Aux Enfants Terribles at the bottom of the Vallandry chairlift has a smart restaurant on the first floor.
At the top end of the dining offerings, the 5-star Hotel Taj-I Mah offers fine dining with a large wine selection.
Activities in Les Arcs

Once again you went the extra mile to ensure we had the perfect holiday. From choosing our local airport to the private taxi transfer it was superb. The flexibility from self catered accommodation allows you to enjoy the fabulous French cuisine on offer. Our ski in ski out apartment was superb well equipped and immaculately clean and spacious. Even the sun shone for the whole 6 days and the sky was bluer than blue. I know you cannot ensure the last two factors but it was almost like you had.
