Explore the slopes
As Austria’s largest ski area, Ski Arlberg offers something for everyone. And thanks to its state-of-the-art lift system, it couldn’t be easier to explore. Throw in high-altitude, snow-sure slopes and a winter season running from early December to late April and St Anton works at any point in the ski season.
With links over to St Christoph, Lech, Zurs and beyond, you could spend a whole week here skiing different slopes each day - you certainly won’t ever get bored!
Experienced skiers should tackle the Arlberg Run of Fame – this is an 85km circuit with 18,000m vertical descent showcasing the best of the Arlberg ski area. It’s a real test to complete in a single day but if you’re up for a challenge, it’s well worth the effort. Follow the purple or orange route, check in at the three checkpoints and you’ll be rewarded with a special memento.
Enjoy the resort
St Anton is at its heart a typically Austrian village with chalet-style architecture, cobbled streets and a quaint onion-domed church. The Dorfstrasse is lined with cafes, shops and restaurants – perfect for a pleasant stroll.
However, St Anton is perhaps best known for its après ski which is among the liveliest you’ll find anywhere in the Alps. Partying starts mid-afternoon on the slopes down to the bottom of the Galzigbahn gondola in world-famous bars like the Krazy Kanguruh and MooserWirt. Expect live music, dancing and flowing drinks. The partying continues in the town until the early hours of the morning with a large selection of bars and clubs.
