Gurgl Ski Holidays
A high-altitude, upmarket destination in the heart of the Austrian Tyrol, the world-class destination of Gurgl is affectionately known as the Diamond of the Alps. With an extensive, snow-sure ski area, plenty of Austrian charm and a quality dining scene, Gurgl is a fantastic destination for your next ski holiday.
Enjoy the Slopes
With 112km of groomed slopes between 1800 and 3030m and a state-of-the-art lift system, the combined Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski area is a dream to explore all season long. Offering mostly blue and red slopes, the skiing is particularly well-suited to beginners and intermediates but there are challenges for more advanced skiers too. Split into two distinct areas, each offering roughly 56km of slopes, Obergurgl and Hochgurgl are seamlessly linked by the panoramic Top Express gondola.
Book a ski pass of 3 days or more and your ticket will be valid across the whole Ötzal Valley, including neighbouring Sölden. There’s a regular bus service (included the resort guest card) to and from Sölden opening up a further 144km of slopes to explore, including a glacier reaching heights of over 3300m. If you’re a James Bond fan, you might recognise some of the scenery as the setting for Spectre.
Enjoy the Resort
Gurgl is split into two distinct resorts. Obergurgl, the larger of the two villages, sits at 1930m with Hochgurgl around 6km away at 2150m. Both hubs offer everything you need for a successful ski holiday with easy access to the slopes, ski school meeting points and ski hire shops. In both places, you’ll find a good selection of accommodation and dining options. Gurgl encapsulates the best of Austrian hospitality and is ideal for families as well as those in search of an upmarket ski destination.
