The impressive Hotel Canoe & Suites sits the start of Banff Avenue in the Uptown area. With the addition of the sister property, the Otter Hotel, this part of Banff Avenue is fast becoming a new boutique hotel hub for the town. With a design that extends the natural landscape of Banff into its lobby and rooms, the Canoe combines an authentic mountain experience with a genuine outdoors vibe. When you're not out exploring the national park or on the slopes you can relax in the rooftop mountain view hot pools by the outdoor fireplace. By day the hotel's restaurant Sudden Sally offers freshly baked pastries and excellent coffee, by night the offering is sharing plates and fine wine.

The regular free ski shuttle picks up across the road at the Canalta Lodge, offering easy access to Banff Mount Norquay, Sunshine Village and Lake Louise.
