Car Hire
If you prefer the flexibility of having a vehicle at your disposal during your stay, we can organise self-drive car rental from all of our Canadian airports, and most of our Canadian downtown city locations.
We book our self-drive car rental packages through a variety of suppliers including: Alamo, National, Avis and Hertz. We only sell 'Gold' or 'Gold+GPS' - the top levels of cover, and so all car rental packages booked through Ski Independence will include the following:
GOLD cover:
- Unlimited mileage
- Collision damage waiver (CDW)
- $1M Liability Cover
- Airport fees
- Local taxes & surcharges
- Extra driver charges
- Tank of fuel
GOLD+GPS cover:
- As GOLD cover but with an additional GPS handset
We will always base our quotes on our tried and tested occupancies - mostly for reasons of space and practicality, but if you'd like to upgrade from our standard occupancy to a larger vehicle then we have a full range of vehicle types available in most locations including cars from Compact through to Full Size, Intermediate SUVs, Standard SUV's, Full Size SUV's, Premium SUV's, Minivans and more. The vast majority of our clients choose an Intermediate SUV (VW Tiguan equivalent), Standard SUV (Ford Edge) or Full-Size SUV (Chevy Tahoe or GMC Yukon). It is always less expensive to upgrade your vehicle before you travel.
We will provide you with a car rental voucher (enclosed with your final Travel Document package). You will need to present this voucher at the appropriate car rental desk + a valid full UK driving licence + a valid credit card in the lead driver's name. You must have had your licence for at least one year and be over the age of 21 years. Drivers aged 21 to 24 years will incur a small daily surcharge paid locally.
Note that driving into or through Banff National Park requires the purchase of a park pass - available at the park gate as you enter the park.
