With snow falling and ski resorts opening, we can’t help but dream about our visiting the mountains and taking those first turns on the slopes. We’ve asked our team where they’re visiting this season, and here’s what they have to say.

Craig

Sun Peaks, Silver Star & Big White

Our Ski Specialist Craig is off to Sun Peaks, Silver Star, and Big White. “All these will be brand new resorts for me which I’m very excited about. I’ve heard great things about them all, and I’m really looking forward to skiing the resorts. I’ll also be making a stopover in Vancouver and will have the opportunity to explore the city which will I’m looking forward to! I’m also hoping to ski in Scotland as much as possible, fingers crossed for some good snow this year!”

Morven

Park City, Utah

“I’m heading out on a trip to Park City this season. The details haven’t been finalised but I’m looking forward to skiing in Utah, and experiencing the dining and bar scene that I’ve heard so much about. I’m also going on a trip to Grindelwald in Switzerland later on in the season. I am looking forward to seeing the Jungfrau and Eiger again, oh and eating some quality fondue!”

Nick

North American Roadtrip

“I’ve got a few trips planned for this season. The first is an early season trip to North America where I’m most looking forward to seeing the new Limelight Snowmass and testing out the new direct flight from Denver-Heathrow with United. Later in the season I’m heading to Munich then over to Kufstein in Austria. Where we’ll go depends on the snow, but I’m looking forward to skiing somewhere new!”

Karen A

Mammoth, California

Karen has the road trip of a lifetime planned for this season. “Me & my Mum are heading to Las Vegas where we’ll spend the night and pick up a car then head to Mammoth. We’re staying at the Hotel Alpenhof – it’s a great location just outside the mountain village and is only a 2 minute walk to the gondola. Mammoth has always appealed, and so I’m looking forward to finally skiing it! Following on from 5 days skiing in Mammoth, we’re heading down through Death Valley National Park, and onwards to Indian Wells. We’ll explore a few of the attractions there, and attend the BNP Paribas tennis tournament.”

Catherine

Zermatt, Val Thorens & Les Arcs

“For my holiday, I’m off to Zermatt. I’ll be staying at the Hotel Mirabeau and I’m so excited to go. I’ve never been there and I’m most looking forward to seeing the Matterhorn in the flesh. I’m also looking forward to the train journey as I love rail travel and I can’t wait to see the scenery. Karen & I are also off on a work trip to Val Thorens and Les Arcs in December. We’re going to be visiting all of the properties we feature there and I’m really looking forward to seeing so much of our programme first hand. It’s going to be a bit of a frantic trip but I can’t wait to get acquainted (or re-acquainted) with these resorts. We’ll also manage to do some skiing in Val Thorens.

Catherine & Karen will be visiting our featured properties in Val Thorens, including Hotel Altapura.

Magda

Chamonix, France

This year Daria and I are heading to Chamonix. I’ve heard so much about the resort and am really looking forward to visiting! I’m really looking forward to snowboarding The Vallee Blanche, which is one of the longest ski runs at 14 miles long. It’s off piste terrain, so will be a good challenge. I’m also excited to explore the other parts of the valley, eating local food in France, Switzerland and Italy all in one trip, as well as heading up to the Aiguille du Midi and admiring the views.

Rebekah

Flaine, France

This season I’m heading to Flaine, staying at Residence Les Terrasses d’Hélios. I'm looking forward to skiing somewhere new, and am secretly excited to cruise down tree-lined blue runs with a couple of friends who are new to skiing. Let's not forget afternoon hot chocolate stops by the slopes!

Pete

Canadian Roadtrip

Pete is currently over in North America on his first trip of the season, visiting 9 different resorts including Big White, Sun Peaks & Banff.

Karen M

Whistler, Canada

“I’m heading to Whistler on holiday this winter with my family and we are staying at the Delta Whistler Village Suites followed by a city break in Vancouver at the Sheraton Wall Centre. I’m most looking forward to doing a day of the Extremely Canadian Ski Clinic to really see what Whistler Blackcomb off-piste is all about and test how good I think I am. I also can’t wait to explore the après spots in Whistler Village on a buzzing afternoon after skiing and watch the Fire and Ice show.”

Adam

Opening Weekend at Avoriaz

I’m heading to Avoriaz early this season and am staying at the brand new Hotel Mil8. I’ll be their first ever guest experiencing the hotel’s soft launch on the resort’s opening weekend. There’s been some great snow hitting Avoriaz so far this winter, and I’m excited to visit and experience the nice restaurants in the Mil8 and the Dromonts restaurant Les Enfants Terribles.
