With over 600km of pistes, the Three Valleys (Courchevel, Méribel and Val Thorens) is the largest ski area in the world. This alone is reason enough to plan a trip there but there are also plenty of exciting developments in store this winter.

Whether you opt for ultra-luxurious Courchevel, family-friendly Méribel or high-altitude Val Thorens, you can expect a great ski experience. Read on to find out more about what you can expect on the slopes in Winter 20/21

Hotel Marielle Opens its Doors in December

Thanks to its unbeatable location right on the slopes and close to the ski school meeting points in Val Thorens, Hotel Marielle looks set to become one of the hottest addresses in town. Ideal for families, couples and groups of friends, the hotel has a wellness centre, bistro-style restaurant and cocktail bar. There’s an on-site ski shop so you can get kitted out with all your equipment and hit the slopes with complete ease.

Get Your Skates On

A brand new ice rink will be opening this winter in Val Thorens. The outdoor rink will be in the central Place du Péclet and is perfect for adults and children alike. Warm up afterwards with a delicious hot chocolate in one of Val Thorens’ many excellent bars and cafés.

Luxury Takeaway Services

This winter might be the year that eating habits in the mountains are revolutionised. You’ll still be able to dine in the many fantastic restaurants across the Three Valleys but you may prefer the thought of a takeaway to enjoy in the comfort of your apartment or chalet. The Cave des Lys in in Courchevel is planning to offer a gourmet Savoyard takeaway service or if you want a chef to come and cook for you in your accommodation, this can be arranged with excellent Restaurant Azimut in Courchevel.

Build an Igloo

Have you ever dreamed of building your very own igloo? Make that dream a reality this winter in Val Thorens. The ESF will be running early evening children’s courses on everything you need to know about this including ice cutting and stacking blocks correctly.

Staying Safe this Year

You’re probably wondering what the ski experience is going to look like for Winter 20/21 due to the current situations. Our in-resort partners are working very hard, putting measures in place to make sure you are as safe as possible with minimum impact on the ski experience. Similarly to the UK, you’ll need to wear a face mask in public indoor spaces and maintain social distancing. On the slopes, you’ll be required to wear a face covering in the queue for ski lifts and for your journey up the mountain. Specially designed, branded face masks adapted to skiing have been designed by the Three Valleys and are available to buy online and in resort. So you can look after yourself, the others around you and go home with a souvenir as well.
