It's no mean feat - being the largest totally ski-in/ski-out resort in Canada and boasting an average of 25 feet of snowfall each year - it comes as no surprise that
Big White has garnered a number of big awards this past season, including the About.com Reader’s Choice Award for
Best Ski Resort. As if this accolade isn't proof enough that this resort has become a firm favourite, the resort is striving to make this winter the best yet with a number of new improvements for the coming season. Here's the latest news from Big White for winter 13/14...

Robots and Grooming Machines
It’s not all about big terrain and big snow, sometimes the small details make the biggest difference. Big White is no stranger to this concept. Understanding that the quality of your skiing experience relies heavily on the quality of your equipment, the resort has invested in new technology for the 2013/14 season to ensure your time on the slopes is the best it can be. This includes the addition of a Wintersteiger Mercury Ski Tuning machine. Tackling ski maintenance with precision, this state-of-the-art robot is the only one of its kind in the Okanagan Valley and means that your rental equipment, or your own skis & boards, are fine-tuned for the very best performance.
Your skis aren't the only thing that will benefit from special attention this winter. A new Piston Bully grooming machine will ensure the slopes are also in tip-top shape, allowing the resort to live up to its recent award from Ski Canada Magazine for the
Best Grooming in Canada.

New for Kids
Big White's famous Kids Centre is also seeing changes to this season’s program. The minimum age for ski lessons has been lowered so 3 year olds can learn to ski here, plus snowboard lessons will now be provided to kids age 5 and up. An exciting new extension to the Kid’s Centre -
The Loose Moose Emporium Kids Boutique - will be a one-stop shop for kids ski clothing as well as winter apparel. The boutique will also feature an international candy selection.
