This year we’re celebrating 25 years of Ski Independence!  As we look forward the ski season, we’ve put our heads together and have come up with 25 ski ‘silvers’. [caption id="attachment_11553" align="aligncenter" width="1024"] Silver Star Ski Resort. Image: Blake Jorgenson[/caption]
  1. The infamous Silver Dollar Bar is located within the Wort Hotel, Jackson Hole. The bar is inlaid with 2,032 silver dollars and offers guests a true western experience.
  2. Silver Star is British Columbia’s 3rd largest ski resort. Home to dry, fluffy Okanagan powder and impeccably groomed runs.
  3. Silverton, Colorado. Imagine a place where the average annual snowfall of over 400 inches exceeds the amount of daily visitors. Advanced and expert only riding. No groomers, no clear-cut runs and a real mountain experience with plenty of adventure on tap.
  4. Aspen Snowmass is home to the Silver Queen gondola. The Sundeck at the top is a great place to take in the panoramic views!

  6. Madonna di Campiglio is home to Nube d’Argento ski slope, which translates as Silver Cloud. This year the slope is to be extended and have a new chairlift installed called Nube d’Oro.
  7. The town of Silverthorne, Colorado delivers endless outdoor adventure, a thriving arts and culture scene, and the most welcoming residents in the Rockies.
  8. The Emma Silver Mine is found in Alta, Utah. Located at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon near Salt Lake City, the Town of Alta rests at 8,530 feet above sea level. Originally a silver mining hotbed turned ghost town, Alta became a ski area in the winter of 1938-39.
  9. Admire the Silver birch trees whilst cruising down the slopes in Aspen Snowmass.
  10. When taking lessons with Oxygene ski school, there’s various level to opt for. If your child has 10-14 weeks of experience and can ski red runs & easy blacks, they’ll be on the Silver level!
  11. If you’re looking for the best way to get from Canyons Village and Park City, take the Quick Silver Gondola connector linking the two.

  13. Nancy Greene was the 1968 Olympic Slalom Silver Medallist (she did win golds too), and was instrumental in the early development of Whistler-Blackcomb and Sun Peaks ski resorts.
  14. Silverado Lift, Squaw Valley. The terrain off the Silverado lift has the feel of the wild west—a bit adventurous and out of the way. It's full of steeps, chutes, bowls, trees, and all of it is for experts only.

  16. The Silverado Lodge at Canyons Village at Park City, Utah, has a heated outdoor pool and hot tub, sauna, and steam room. What better way to finish a day on the slopes?
  17. Sip on a ‘Silver Alps’ cocktail at Hotel W Verbier. Sparkling Wine with Patrón silver, Patrón Citróng Orange and a twist of lime.

  19. The Silv(e)retta Alps are home to Klosters ski resort in Switzerland. Klosters is a picturesque destination which offers great terrain and a village packed with charm.
  20. If you’re looking for some new skis, take a look at Volant’s luxury Silver Spear skis.
  21. Park City offer an on slopes complimentary silver mine tour. The tour leaves twice daily and allows you to uncover historic mining buildings and hidden relics scattered across the resort.
  22. The Upper Silver Fox is a scary double black ski trail at Snowbird, Utah.

  24. Silver City is an extreme zone next to Delirium Dive in Banff Sunshine Village. So extreme, It’s very rarely open.
