All smiles on the Experimental Chalet trip to Paris and Val d'Isère

All smiles in Val d'Isère after a couple of nights in Paris en route

What’s not to love about a weekend in Paris? The allure of this beautiful and charming city never seems to fade and whether you’re looking to tick off the tourist sights, indulge in some shopping or just make the most of the glamorous food and drink scene, the French capital won’t disappoint. Set off from London St Pancras on a Friday afternoon and you can be sitting in a smart Parisian bar sipping a Kir Royale with some delicious charcuterie in front of you by early evening.

It's easy to spend a couple of nights in Paris before hopping on a TGV (high speed train) that will get you down to Lyon in under 2 hours. From there, we can arrange a private transfer to any of our featured French resorts - whether that’s Val d’Isère, Courchevel or another resort of your choosing. Enjoy some fabulous days on the slopes before making your way back to the UK. We’ll make your journey as easy as possible with a private transfer to the airport and a direct flight home.

Hotel Grands Boulevards, Experimental Group Paris

Hotel des Grands Boulevards

Shona from our Marketing team recently sampled this trip and can highly recommend the experience. As a guest of the Experimental Group, Shona was lucky enough to experience two of their fabulous Paris hotels. Hotel des Grands Boulevards enjoys a great location in the 2nd arondissement with a Metro stop just outside. It’s also just a 20 minute walk from both the Louvre and Paris Opéra. Renowned for fantastic cocktails, rooftop bar The Shed is an ideal place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. With comfortable sofas and outdoor heaters this is a little oasis of calm where you can enjoy your tipple of choice.

Sister property Grand Pigalle Hotel is in the 9th arrondissement and its restaurant Frenchie comes highly recommended. In-house chef Gregory Marchand has a Michelin star, so this is definitely a hot address in town offering relaxed dining and excellent value for money.

At the heart of the Experimental Group’s signature style is an emphasis on great hospitality, amazing design and superb cocktails. Very excitingly, all of this will soon be translated into the Experimental Chalet Val d’Isère which is due to open its doors in February 2025. Formerly the Hotel Aigle des Neiges, this hotel has an amazing location in the centre of resort with the slopes on your doorstep. Shona was lucky enough to see a mock-up of one of the hotel rooms and it looks fantastic.

We’ll keep you posted with developments but the Experimental Chalet Val d’Isère would be an ideal choice for a combined Paris and Alpine stay. Knowing how great the Experimental Chalet Verbier is, we’re confident this is going to be a brilliant addition to Val d’Isère!
