Snowy mountains, fresh air, blue skies, an A-list line up of comedians and an exhilarating week long party with some of the world’s best known bands and DJ’s...it looks like Mayrhofen is the place to be this spring. Kick starting the party and being dubbed the ‘funniest week in the Alps ever’ is the Altitude Comedy Festival, followed 10 days later by the well known music festival Snowbombing. Set in the beautiful Zillertal Valley, Mayrhofen has the reputation as one of the best ski resorts in Austria. Located just over an hour from Innsbruck, the resort offers a vast 638km of ski runs. Renowned for its lively après ski scene every March and April the boundaries are pushed, resulting in 2 of the best mountain parties on the European ski calendar.
Returning to the Alps for its 5th year in its new home of Mayrhofen, the Altitude Comedy Festival gets under way on the 26th March where you can expect to find some of the biggest names in comedy performing over 6 nights. Jimmy Carr, Frankie Boyle, Ed Byrne, Tim Minchin, Al Murray, Kevin Bridges, Rufus Hound... the list goes on. With numerous venues around resort the festival caters for everyone’s taste, there are even shows to entertain the children if you decide to take them along. Around resort and on the mountain you will find an array of different venues, in town the underground tennis club is transformed into a 3,000 capacity night club, perched high above resort the Igloo creates the setting for the arctic disco and hidden deep in the Eristoff Forest you will be amazed by the outdoor party!
