Our European Product Manager, Catherine, is a huge fan of the mountains - not only for the skiing, but also the scenery and the cuisine - which explains why Italian resorts feature strongly in her list of favourite ski destinations! She also loves Switzerland's chocolate box charm and plans to explore more Swiss resorts this winter...
Where did you ski last year?
I went to Saas Fee in Switzerland. I love chocolate box, traditional villages and Saas Fee really hit the mark. I think Swiss hospitality is probably the best in the world and the Hotel Allalin really delivered on this front. Even better, I found Saas Fee to be particularly good value for money and unpretentious. The best thing about this resort? The slopes were pristine and almost deserted!

Where do you plan to ski this coming winter?
I’m planning to go back to Switzerland, but this time I’ll be going to Wengen. We don’t currently feature Wengen or the Jungfrau region in our programme but there are some exciting developments going on here so watch this space…
Which resort do you keep going back to?
The Dolomites are somewhere I am always happy to return to, mostly because the skiing is amazing and very extensive. The scenery is also beautiful and the mountain restaurants are first class. Selva di Val Gardena is probably my favourite resort as I went there three years running!

Are there any resorts still on your bucket list?
I’ve never skied outside Europe so there are lots of places still on my bucket list. Banff looks amazing so I think that’s probably top of my list. My colleagues tell me that it’s pretty great!

Where did you have your best ever ski holiday?
I’ve never had a bad ski holiday because being out on the mountain is very much my happy place! If I had to pick a standout holiday, I’d have to say Zermatt. The ski area is just superb – so extensive and lots of really long pistes to enjoy. The views of the Matterhorn were as magnificent as I’d hoped and Zermatt is such a pretty village as well.
