Ski resorts in Colorado, USA have just witnessed one of the biggest storms in many years in what has been dubbed the 'Storm of the Century'. There were accumulations of over 60cm of snow in 48 hours in Breckenridge, Beaver Creek, Vail and Keystone! These are the largest snowfalls since the 2000-2001 winter season and totals for the 48 hour period to the 31st January were:
- Vail: 66cm with 5,289 acres of skiable terrain accessible by 31 lifts.
- Beaver Creek: 71cm with 1,832 acres of skiable terrain accessible by 24 lifts.
- Breckenridge: 81cm with 2,907 acres of skiable terrain accessible by 35 lifts.
- Keystone: 68cm with 3,058 acres of skiable terrain accessible by 19 lifts.
