Cortina d'Ampezzo Ski Holidays

Particularly popular with well-heeled Italians looking to enjoy the finer things in life, Cortina d'Ampezzo is a chic mountain town offering charismatic elegance to rival the most distinguished of resorts.

Enjoy the Slopes

The 120km of slopes in the local area of Cortina d'Ampezzo are split into three main sections, the most extensive of which is on the Tofana side. The iconic Olympia delle Tofane piste will be instantly recognisable to followers of ski racing as the most spectacular descent in the women's World Cup with the jagged rocks of the Dolomites jutting out either side of the run. Further options are available from the Faloria lift, offering a great variety for intermediate skiers including lovely tree-skiing and higher, more open terrain boasting stunning, lofty views. Beginners will enjoy the blue runs above Socrepes and there is a good variety of ski schools offering group and private tuition. More adventurous skiers can take a day trip over to Alta Badia via the 5 Torri - Lagazuoi area which links into the larger Sella Ronda circuit. The links are a little convoluted but where there's a will, there's a way!

Enjoy the Resort

Arguably the main sport in Cortina is people-watching. The charming, car-free resort centre is lined with designer shops, jewellers, stylish bars and restaurants, making it an ideal spot for non-skiers. Everything in the resort centres around the Corso Italia which is a quaint, cobbled, pedestrianised street with traditional chalet style buildings and a pretty church and bell tower. Sit back in one of Cortina's bar terraces with a cappuccino and simply watch the world go by. And at only a couple of hours away from Venice, combining a luxurious ski trip with a cultural city break has never been easier!
