There are endless reasons to visit Jackson Hole and Big Sky and experience the best of skiing in Wyoming and Montana. While we can't list them all here, we've come up with a very short list of the best of what's on offer and show you why booking a place on the 2014 Ski & Snowboard Magazine Reader Holiday (an amazing 10-day itinerary) is a must-do!
Reason #1
First and foremost, there's Corbet’s Couloir in Jackson Hole, one of the world’s most famous extreme ski runs and a pilgrimage for many a die-hard skier. Tackle this and you can count yourself among a select group of Corbet's fanatics!
Reason #2
Big Sky is the biggest single ski area in the USA and offers great cruising runs, excellent on-mountain dining, an unbeatable view from the top of Lone Peak and, last but not least, the Big Couloir (take a look at Nick's blog post for more details).

Reason #3
Big Sky is not at all crowded. If you like long, fast cruising runs on virtually empty slopes this is the destination for you!
Reason #4
Jackson Hole is a genuine ranching town with monster snow, scary skiing and great bars – with possibly the best-named après-ski bar ever: the 'Mangy Moose'! Visit the Million dollar Cowboy Bar for the authentic cowboy experience – featuring saddles as bar stools - to match Teton’s wild, big mountain experience.
Reason #5
There is stunning wildlife and scenery all around you. On the drive between Big Sky and Jackson you skirt round Yellowstone National Park (you might even see a mangy moose!).

Reason #6
Legendary film production company Teton Gravity Research is based here, with athletes such as Jeremy Jones, Victoria Jealouse, Griffin Post, Seth Morrison and Travis Rice featuring in many of their big mountain movies. It's easy to see why they call Jackson Hole and the Tetons home with such an inspirational backdrop.

Reason #7
The bumps at Hobacks in Jackson. Start at the top of the Rendez-Vous bowl, stay skiers right and ski all the way to the bottom of the mountain - it's a real thigh burner, which starts off gently and rolls into a vast area of steeps, chutes and bumps. This is a long descent so don't forget to warm up your knees first! Want to know more? Read Nick's blog from a couple of years ago for more info on Hobacks and other expert runs in North America.
Reason #8
Grand Targhee - ski powder in one of the USA’s most consistent resorts for snowfall, located in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, around an hour's drive from Jackson Hole, and also boasting a real lack of lift lines!
