With December is just around the corner, many of our featured resorts will soon be open for winter 2017/18 as the ski season begins. And what a start to the season it promises to be!
Several resorts are already up and running and we're itching to get out there and find our ski legs once more. We've sought out the most inspirational pictures and videos that we can find from around the web, so read on and get in the mood for winter!
Val Thorens
Anyone for corduroy? Open now, Val Thorens is leading the charge with simply superb conditions. 70cm has already accumulated on the lower slopes and there's another 20cm on the way.
Mammoth
Mammoth Mountain in California is always one of the first resorts to open and this year was no exception. We sent journalist James Cove to test the trails earlier this month: James said Mammoth was "already living up to its reputation for snow" during his first skiing trip of the season.
Lake Louise
Breaking records already, Lake Louise has had 264cm of snow so far this winter, making it the best start to their season since 1950/51!
Alpe d'Huez
With such great conditions Alpe d'Huez is opening this coming weekend, the 2nd and 3rd of December:

Significant snowfall is forecast for Zermatt over the next 9 days. Take a look at this prediction from snow-forecast.com: [caption id="attachment_10408" align="aligncenter" width="558"] Lots of snow on its way to Zermatt![/caption]
Jackson Hole

Val d'Isère
Finally, to Val d'Isère where two of our Ski Specialists, Gordon and Aodhan, spent a day on the slopes earlier this week. Here they are, making the rest of the team green with envy at their great day's skiing. Not only was the snow fresh and fluffy, but the sun was shining too - what more could you ask for? [caption id="attachment_10371" align="aligncenter" width="358"] Aodhan and Gordon getting the first turns of the winter under their belts[/caption] With the cold temperatures and more snowfalls in the forecast for the next week, the ski season begins!
