Can't wait for winter? Looking for an early season getaway? News of BIG North American snowfall is filling up our inboxes and many resorts are already open - or will be very soon!
The 2015/16 ski season is well and truly underway and things are off to a cracking start in the USA and Canada. Resorts in Europe aren't far behind, with cold weather and plenty snow in the forecast - over a metre is predicted to fall in Avoriaz this coming weekend!
Here's our pick 8 of the best ski resorts now open:
1. Lake Louise, Alberta:
Boasting one of the longest winter seasons around, Lake Louise is always one of the first resorts to open. What's more, at least 50cm of snow is expected to fall in the new few days.
2. Breckenridge, Colorado:
Traditionally one of the first resorts in Colorado to open for skiing, Breckenridgehas had a amazing start to the winter with a superb opening day on the 13th November.

Big snow means an early opening, two weeks ahead of schedule, for this superb BC resort.

4. Aspen, Colorado:
Aspen Mountain opened up for the weekend of the 14th & 15th November, and Aspen Mountain & Snowmass will be up and going, ahead of schedule, on the 21st November:
5. Keystone, Colorado:
Keystone is already open for early season turns. No doubt the snowpark will be busy with keen freestylers and pros who flock to Keystone to warm up for a winter of competition.

California is reaping the benefits of the El Niño weather system this year, meaning another state-side early opening.

7. Zermatt, Switzerland:
With 130cm of snow on the upper slopes of Zermatt, with the link to Cervinia also open, why not grab some early season turns in this iconic resort?

8. Don't forget... Whistler, BC:
Well, it's almost open! The latest news is that 98cm of snow has fallen since the beginning of November and at least 45cm more should arrive over the next few days. Whistleris opening 1 week ahead of schedule on 19th November.
