New Year Skiing - Our Recommendations
117 days and counting…
It may feel like there’s plenty of time between now and the bells chiming the start of 2017 but we’ll be linking arms and trying to remember anything past the first verse of Auld Lang Syne before you can say Hogmanay.

Without wanting to wish away the autumn, it definitely pays to be organised and sort out your plans for the 31st December. And where better to see in another year than surrounded by mountains and enjoying some of the very best alpine hospitality? Not to mention a New Year’s Day spent on the slopes, where the effects of the night before always seem to be magically banished.
Here’s a few of our favourite resorts to enjoy New Year skiing in Winter 2016/17:
1. Val d’Isère
Val d’Isère is a lively place at the best of times, but the bars and hotels there know how to organise a shindig and it’s wise to pre-book a table if you’d like to indulge in a gala dinner. The stroke of midnight is often celebrated in the centre of the resort where the countdown begins and fireworks mark the start of another year. If you want to continue to celebrate into the wee hours, there are plenty of bars to suit all budgets around the resort to choose from to quench a thirst.
The following hotels (all of which currently have availability over New Year*): Hotel Aigle des Neiges, Hotel Kandahar, Hotel Avenue Lodge, Hotel Christiania, Hotel le Blizzard and last but not least the Hotel Barmes de l’Ours, which offers a highly memorable Gala Dinner with fireworks and music.

The resort boasts a vast range of bars and restaurants, all vying for your attention, plus an unofficial party with DJs in the central square.
